The same thing that makes up an ideal ranger of any color, bravery, goodness, a team player, humility and physical strength.

Ideally, what makes a Red Ranger is the ability to not be a leader because the qualities in running a team comes from relying on the team they're in. Bravery, goodness, a team player, humility, and physical strength has to come from every member; not just the Red Ranger.
