I wonder how the Ninja Academies from NS, and recently, the Claw in JF gained students. If they're supposed to be secret, how was it possible to gain their students? Better yet, how did they make sure they only let decent students in to prevent a repeat of Lothor?

Was it ever said?

I would say that former students would recommend their friends or people who they thought were worthy. But I think a lot of it was a generational thing. With people sending their kids to train like they did. That may be why the Wind Rangers felt so out of place. Most of their peers were probably from families that were part of the Acadamy for generations.

I do think some students may have found their eay there on accident and be taking in as students. Much like Cam was when he traveled back in time. I actually imagine that the Wind Rangers found the acadamy on accident. With Sensei reconizing them as the chosen ones in the scroll. At which point he invited them to become students.

I could see a lot of.this being true for the Phu Zhat Acadmy. SPD could openly recruit and advertise since they werent secret.

They bribed the parents.

*Car drives up in front of house*

*Family goes up to driver side door*

*Master rolls down window*

Master: "I will pay you $10 mllion if you let me take your kid to my secret kung fu academy"

Dad: "Sold"

Kid: "But Dad I don't wanna"

Dad: "you're going with Mr. uhh what's your name?"

Master: "Master Rattle"

Dad: "Yeah, Master Rattle and that's final"

*Parents, and Master Rattle force kid into the back seat, and close the door*

*Master Rattle gets into the driver's seat closes the door and drives off*

Serious answer: My guess is the same way specialty schools like Ballet Academies, Art Schools, Genius Schools, Schools for athletes hoping to get into the Olympics, etc in real life get students.
