In "Force From The Future Part 1", Alex is mortally wounded by Ransik and left for dead. Yet he is the mysterious figure watching over the Rangers for most of the season. And reveals himself as being alive and well when he travels to the past. But it is never explained why he survived. How was this the case?

One theory is that the changes in the timeline changed things so that Alex survived. Its worth noting that Logan seemed to be his commanding officer in the first episode. In later episodes, Alex seems to outrank Logan. Another possibility is that Alex was healed by the same ball that healed Mr Collins.

Another thing regarding the time travel physics theory is the theory the show itself implies that Bio Lab, and the Silver Guardians are an early version of Time Force, and the lab that created Ransik, and that the events of the series changed or at least sped up things that happened in the original time line.

In this case when Wes decided to take control of his own life which impressed his father enough to make him the leader of the Silver Guardians it lead to a future where Alex was now a high ranking officer of Time Force as opposed to the original time line where Alex was in the same rank as Jen, and the others.

Thats actually pretty interesting. And makes sense if you assume Alex is a decendent of Wes.

I can think of only 2 possible theories.

1. Alex survived the battle because of the Orb that he used on Mr. Collins.

2. This one actually makes the most sense but I believe it does have something to do with the time stream changes. Think of it this way. Ransik strikes Alex down and kills him but Ransik himself leaves the future to go back to the past and this means history changes because Ransik is now part of 2001 before he was born and therefore he couldn't be in 3000 to kill Alex so the battle he and Alex had never happened.
